These images were scanned from Woodenboat Magazine #127, Dec 1995. They were photocopied from my plans for an article written by Joel White. Contrary to what Joel says in the article, it isn't a large pilothouse. The headroom from the cabin sole is the same as my Catalina 27, but it stops short of the mast, rather than extending 2 feet further on like the Catalina. The deck height is further reduced forward, around the vee berth space, and the pilothouse width is nearly two feet narrower than the Catalina's cabin even though both have the same beam on deck. The need for a dodger is of course eliminated. With the reduced freeboard forward and the davits and dinghy, the windage is well aft, which should prove desirable at anchor and when manevering in marinas on windy days.
